ROTTERDAM
In the 1930's Rotterdam was the largest port on earth, till it was completely destroyed in WWII, and today it is again the largest port on the planet! When I got a few minutes to wander, my nose took me straight to the water of course, and I was able to get some colorful pix (my new polarizing lens was perfect) -- here's a small gallery of more ===> Rotterdam Photos
Lots of statues, streets and buildings commemorating the most famous Rotterdam-ian.
Plus the most striking site in the city is Erasmus Bridge (you remember -- that renaissance dude).
Actually, this bridge is typical arcnhitecture - the whole city was rebuilt during the 50's, so it's a complete "retro" style city!
