Wow, I just saved a family. Being tuesday there
are only a few boats in the Salt Pond. The wind
suddenly kicked up to 20-25 kts and white capping
in the Pond. Family of 4, two very small, were
trying to get back from the beach to their boat
at anchor near me at Breezy point. Nobody else around
really to notice them get swamped in their little
fiberlass dingy. Mom and kids had drifted away from
the swamped boat and Dad. when I heard their yells off
in the distance, trusty dingy and I came to the rescue
and found some very cold and scared folks to be
hauled aboard. By the time I got them back to their
boat, and got myself back to Migration, a couple of
other sailors had noticed the action and were applauding.
